Some thoughts on Utah’s 2019 football schedule

Utah’s 2019 football schedule has been released. The rivalry game with BYU needs to be played at the beginning of the year, every year, so it does not conflict with the PAC12 championship game. The rest of the non conference games are of little significance. The Friday night game with USC should be a tough challenge for the Utes. It’s been many years since Utah has won at the Coliseum. Washington state should take a step back in 2019 with the loss of Gardner Minshew at QB. The Bye week looks like it will come at the perfect time of the year to get some rest and make adjustments. Playing at Oregon state should be an easy win. Arizona state should be much different next season without a potential top 10 pick in the NFL draft in N’Keal Harry. California is a tricky game to predict because they really surprised people down the stretch in 2018. Utah’s defense should take over in that game and get Utah the win. Playing at Washington is never easy and the Huskies could be a great team again. Having another bye week in November is tremendous. UCLA should compete for a bowl game in 2019 with DTR coming back as a super sophomore QB. I don’t think Arizona will be a bowl team in 2019 so Utah should handle business that week. Colorado is a mess. Utah should win that game eight out of every ten years. Utah has the potential to be a 10 win team in 2019. The entire defense for the Utes outside of the LBs return. Utah has a great offensive line in place next season. Armand Shyne is back. Tyler Huntley looks poised for a strong senior season. The entire wide receiver corps is back. Utah is ready for another massive year on the gridiron.
