Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves Square Off Tonight

The Utah Jazz (37-38) will welcome in the Minnesota Timberwolves (25-50) to Vivint Samart Home Arena in what is a must-win game for the Jazz at 7:00 PM.  The Jazz must win the games that they are supposed to win as they continue to fight for playoff positioning.  They currently are tied with the Dallas Mavericks (37-38) for the 7th and 8th spots in the Western Conference.  They lead the Houston Rockets (37-39) by a half game who are in 9th place on the outside of the playoffs.  Derrick Favors is listed as questionable for tonight’s game with right knee soreness.  He left Wednesday’s game in the 3rd quarter due to the injury.  He participated through parts of shoot around, but not all of it this morning.

Here is Utah Jazz Head Coach Quin Snyder with the media following shoot around:

The Jazz are coming into a game following their loss on Wednesday to the Golden State Warriors in overtime.  The Jazz had their chances on Wednesday to beat the NBA-best Warriors but missed a combined 16 free throws in the game, including 10 in the 4th quarter.  The Jazz have won 2 of the previous 3 meetings this season against the Timberwolves.  Minnesota is 12-25 away from Target Center.  The Jazz need to jump out to an early lead and make this game and make it as easy as possible to pick up the win.  This is the final game of 3 games at home for the Jazz.  They will take on the Phoenix Suns on Sunday before 2 more at home next week against the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers.

Rodney Hood of the Utah Jazz talked with the media after shoot around.  Here is the audio:
