A Day at the Ballpark!

Coors Field #1

In this time of NBA Finals and the NBA Draft coming up in about two weeks, I turn the focus to Major League Baseball and a day at the park. Maybe I’m a little too gushy when it comes to this, but there really isn’t a whole lot for me that tops a day consisting of watching your favorite team and a wonderful ballpark venue. I had the privilege of seeing the St. Louis Cardinals play the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field and boy did it not disappoint! Now the game was a little frustrating to watch as the Cardinals lost, 11-3, but the stadium, fans and weather made for an amazing time. A sea of red throughout the stadium to see the likes of Yadier Molina, Matt Carpenter, Matt Holliday and the list goes one. However, Colorado shouldn’t be overlooked in this case either. Talent like Troy Tulowitzki, Charlie Blackmon and Chris Hale, the winning pitcher this night, proved to more than formidable against the best team in the majors. And then again the Tuesday, minus Hale, as the Rockies beat St. Louis, 4-3. Just goes to show, anytime, anywhere, the best teams are human and go through slumps, which the Cards have had, including Matt Carpenter, going 0-7 with 4 K’s. Not his finest moments of the season, but every player goes through it.

Warm Ups

I’m also lucky, because I had the chance to knock down another stadium in Major League Baseball. I’ve now been to nine MLB stadiums, including Busch Stadium, Dodgers Stadium, Wrigley Field and AT&T Park. All nine of those stadiums I’ve been able check off my list have been with my Dad. It started in 2010 and will continue to be the case until finishing all stadiums. I wish I could just knock them out during the summer, but I do have this thing called a job, that pays me to survive and what not, so I better not get ahead of myself here. However, what an experience it would be if someone was able to do such a thing.

Now with that being said, I take this time to say find your outlet in life. Maybe it’s hiking, camping, traveling. Whatever it is, enjoy the finer things and the simpler things for that matter too. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you that, but just think of it as reminder, from one friend to another.
