The folks over at TheBaseballPage.com put together a montage of events that happened on this day in history. Take a look.

1916 – Ernie Koob of the St. Louis Browns pitched all 17 innings in a 0-0 tie against Boston.

1956 – Mel Parnell of the Boston Red Sox pitched a no-hitter 4-0 no-hitter against Chicago.

1967 – Eddie Mathews of the Houston Astros hits his 500th home run against San Francisco.

1968 – Hank Aaron of the Milwaukee Braves hits his 500th home run against San Francisco.

1970 – Pete Rose of the Cincinnati Reds barrels over Ray Fosse in the All-Star Game.

Like I said, who knew so many amazing MLB events took place on one day in history!
