Donovan Mitchell missed crucial free throw in loss to Thunder

Jazz go 11-18 from the free throw line in loss to Thunder.

At the charity stripe with the game on the line, Donovan Mitchell stepped up and thought he made the first free throw. He didn’t. The Jazz needed him to miss the second. He made it. Opportunity lost.

Oklahoma City survived Utah’s late rally from down nine with 3:35 to go, winning 107-106 at Vivint Smart Home Arena. Mitchell accepted the blame.

Quin Snyder explained the Jazz’s approach after Mitchell missed the front end.

Paul George poured 22 of his 43 total points in the third quarter to give OKC a 93-81 lead heading into the fourth.

The Thunder grabbed its second win against the divisional foes in as many weeks. These two next meet on February 22 at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Utah will play on Christmas night against Portland.
