Having spent the majority of his life in and around professional sports, radio and TV veteran Spence Checketts brings his unique perspective and passion for sports talk radio to the airwaves as host of “The Drive with Spence Checketts” on ESPN 700.
During Checketts 15 year radio career, he has hosted weekend shows, pre half and post-game coverage for Real Salt Lake, University of Utah basketball and football, BYU football, and Utah Jazz basketball.
Checketts is best known for his presence in the afternoons on the SLC airwaves for the past 12 years, beginning with the wildly popular “Bill and Spence” show on ESPN 700, then continuing with “The Big Show” on 1280, The Zone. Both shows were the top-rated shows in the market during Checketts tenure.
In addition to his radio career, Checketts has also worked as a Regional Scout for the New York Knicks, Venue Manager for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in SLC, and arena manager for Disney’s Wide World of Sports.
Checketts is the host of “Reality Check with Spence Checketts”, a long-form interview podcast featuring big names in the world of Sports. Checketts resides in Salt Lake City, Utah with his fiancé, and is the father of one son, Connor.
