The Washington Huskies upset the Washington State Cougars in the Apple Cup on Friday night and will represent the PAC-12 North in the conference championship game. In a snowy match up, Washington’s ability to run the ball, largely due to 170 yards from Myles Gaskin carried the Huskies to a 28-15 victory.
It largely ends the miracle season from the Cougars, who were ranked #8 in the country going into the game. The Cougars could still get elected to a New Years Six Bowl game despite the loss, but would have been a shoo-in had they simply made the championship game, now they will need some help from teams ranked ahead of them in the CFP standings to guarantee a spot.
The Utes lost to Washington in week three this season 21-7 before Utah’s offense found its rhythm.
The PAC-12 Title game will be played Friday at 6 PM in Santa Clara, CA at Levi’s Stadium.
