Utah Jazz Media Day; Training Camp Begins

The NBA season is officially underway!  At least for the Utah Jazz.  The Jazz held their Media Day today making all 19 players as well as Coach Quin Snyder and General Manager Dennis Lindsey open to the media for interviews.  A lot of the questions heading into this season is how good will this team be after a 25 win season in the 2013-14 campaign?  You can’t really predict a lot since the Jazz just started Training Camp today but of what we do know is that it will be a process and maybe a long one.  The Jazz added 19 year old Dante Exum (5th Pick) and Rodney Hood (23rd Pick) as well as Veteran Forward Trevor Booker to the young core of Derrick Favors, Alec Burks, Enes Kanter, Trey Burke and Gordon Hayward who is returning after the Jazz signed him to a max contract.  Another thing to add to this rebuilding team is new Head Coach Quin Snyder who has never been an NBA Head Coach.  We may not know right now of how good this Jazz team will be, but what we do know is that Quin Snyder is going to change the way the team plays on the Basketball.  Something that Coach Snyder has preached to the Media and his players is the commitment to playing defense and having all 5 players on the floor committed to defending.  That was what a lot of the players that David Glauser and I said when we asked them about Coach Snyder.  I am excited to see how good this team can be defensively since the Jazz haven’t been great defending since the Jerry Sloan era.

The Bleacher Report predicted the Jazz to finish 23-59 this season.  That would be taking a step backwards.  I think if the Jazz could get between 2-5 win improvement this season, that would be a home run.  You can check out every single player and Coach Snyder and Dennis Lindsey interviews here: http://espn.kall700sports.com/category/audio/recent-interviews/
