Utah Jazz Point Guard Donovan Mitchell on the Dan Patrick Show
Utah Jazz Rookie Point Guard Donovan Mitchell joined The Dan Patrick Show on Tuesday as the team’s prepares to take on the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night in Houston in game 2 of their series. Mitchell talked about how his stardom has increased since he won the Slam Dunk Contest. Dan Patrick asked Donovan about if he cares if he wins the Rookie of the Year Award; Mitchell replied all he cares about is that the Jazz are in the 2nd round of the playoffs right now and how many people did not pick them to even make the playoffs. He knows this is a team game and is pleased with how well his team has played together and how well they have done this season. Mitchell discussed his favorite TV shows and how much he really enjoys the “City Edition” Jazz jersey.
Donovan Mitchell has emerged as one of the team’s leaders this season. It is amazing how much respect his teammates give him as a rookie. He is a humble player that truly wants his team to succeed. It is not about him. It is all about his team and what he can do to make his team better. Through 7 games this postseason Mitchell is averaging 27.4 points. 6.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.29 steals in 38.6 minutes per game. Tip-off for Wednesday night’s game from Toyota Center will be at 6:00 PM with the Rockets up in the series 1-0. The game will be televised on TNT.
