As the end of camp nears, the depth chart (or as the coaches prefer, contributors and non-contributors) has been more or less solidified for the start of the season. The top cornerbacks are Reggie Porter and Cory Butler-Byrd, followed by Brian Allen, and a battle between Boobie Hobbs, Tavaris Williams, and Casey Hughes. Justin Thomas is the top nickelback, with Jordan Fogal backing him up.
The offensive line seems to be shaping into a solid starting five. Without coach confirmation, the starting five looks to be:
LT – Sam Tevi
LG – Isaac Asiata
C – Siaosi Aiono
RG – Leka Uhatafe
RT – JJ Dielman
(That’s a strong group)
As for today’s practice, Travis Wilson had another sharp day today, making good reads and accurate throws. Kendal Thompson and Chase Hansen both had good days, with some mistakes. There was one lost fumble on a handoff from Kendal Thompson to Kyle Fulks, and one tipped pass that was intercepted from Travis Wilson. Thompson and Hansen both overthrew open receivers in the end zone during the media session.
The team is in the preparation stage for Michigan at this point. The roster has been separated into contributors and the scout team, with a handful of players on the bubble.
The wide receiver opposite Kenneth Scott stands as a rotation between Siaosi Wilson, Tyrone Smith, Caleb Repp, and Delshawn McClellon.
