Fmr Utah S Robert Johnson: Utah Was Different In A Good Way

He is fond of Kalani Sitake in part for that visit, “even though he’s down south with the team nobody likes.”

Former Utah and Tennessee Titans safety Robert Johnson was on this week’s edition of Where Are They Now Wednesday, and told of his brief recruitment process to the University of Utah. On his last game in junior college, then-Utah assistant coach Kalani Sitake was visiting south central Los Angeles, an area Johnson said most coaches are not willing to go, and offered him a trip and a scholarship to Utah.  He is fond of Sitake in part for that visit, “even though he’s down south with the team nobody likes.”

The Utes were the only team looking at Johnson at the time, and provided his first trip on a plane, his first experience with snow, and offered him a spot on the team.
