Jazz preseason may be a strong predictor of season

The Utah Jazz finished the preseason undefeated, and while generally the preseason isn’t a strong indicator of a team’s future success, this year might be different for the Jazz.

Against Portland and Toronto, two of the 10 best teams in the NBA, the Jazz starters struggled to keep up with CJ McCollum, Damian Lillard, and Kawhi Leonard. In a battle of stars, despite the emergence of Donovan Mitchell, and Rudy Gobert, the may struggle to keep up with other elite teams in the NBA with their starters alone.

However, the Jazz superior depth, which was on display in the second halves of games during the preseason will keep the team competitive when the backups battle the backups, and should set the Jazz up with a lot of wins this season.
