Utah Jazz Practice Report – 1-31-17

The Utah Jazz held practice Tuesday morning/afternoon as they continue their preparations for the Milwaukee Bucks.  The Jazz and Bucks will square off Wednesday night at Vivint Smart Home Arena at 7:00 PM.  Every game is an important one for the Jazz as the playoff standings continue to be close.  The Jazz currently trail the Los Angeles Clippers by a half game for the 4th seed in the Western Conference playoff standings.

Boris Diaw has been a solid player for the Jazz coming off the bench.  He knows when he needs to be aggressive on the offensive end of the court.  He also provides a great passer that helps the ball movement on offense.  He spoke with the media following practice:

Rudy Gobert is having an outstanding season as he continues to be a factor every game defensively.  He is averaging a double-double with 12.8 points per game and 12.5 rebounds per game.  He also blocks 2.6 shots per game.  He talked with the media following practice:

The last 2 days have been good for the Jazz as they have been able to get some practice time in and get some playing time in together.  Utah Jazz Head Coach Quin Snyder talked with the media today about Rudy Gobert, Boris Diaw, and practice time.  Here is the audio:

Derrick Favorts, once again, did not participate in contact drills at practice.  He just worked on the conditioning portion of practice.

The Utah Jazz also announced today that they have assigned Joel Bolomboy to the Salt Lake City Stars of the NBA D-League.  This will be the 13th assignment this season for Bolomboy.
