As the Los Angeles Lakers’ massive recruiting blitz rolls on, the team has announced the signing of former Charlotte Hornet Malik Monk.
Monk, who became a free agent when the Charlotte Hornets elected not to renew his contract, will join the team’s new “super trio” of Russell Westbrook, LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the court. Sources say Lakers officials are also debating whether to start the recently-signed Carmelo Anthony or Marc Gasol.
The 23-year-old Monk has averaged 9.1 points per game, shooting 34 percent from deep, statistics reveal.

Will the Lakers’ new lineup be as invincible as team officials think they’ll be? Why did the Hornets dump Monk?
