Real Salt Laker midfielder Albert Rusnak joined the media after practice on Tuesday to discuss their win over D.C. United on Saturday and their upcoming match in Philadelphia. When asked about their road woes, Albert said that RSL needs to have the same mentality on the road that they have at home and be on the attack.
RSL’s win on Saturday at Rio Tinto Stadium marked Nick Rimando’s 200th win of his career. Real went down a goal in the 9th minute, but pulled one back through Corey Baird before D.C.’s Joseph Mora was shown a red card in the 22nd. RSL went on to score 2 more goals, thanks to Albert Rusnak and Jefferson Savarino, taking a 3-1 lead. United was able to get one more past Rimando but it wasn’t enough and RSL took all 3 points.
Albert Rusnak had 1 goal and 1 assist in the match, putting him at 3 goals and 3 assists on the season, and earned himself a spot on MLS Team of the Week. Head coach Mike Petke joined The Bill Riley Show on Tuesday, saying finding him in the attack is important to their success:
