The Bullpen – October 29, 2014 Edition

Game 7 of the 2014 World Series is tonight in Kansas City as the Royals take on the San Francisco Giants. Is there anything better than a Game 7 to determine a championship? There will so much strategy used in tonight’s game. The managers will have short leashes on their pitchers. Pinch runners and pinch hitters will be used. If pitchers start to struggle, don’t be surprised if they are given the early hook. All hands will be on deck and ready to go. It will be outstanding to watch this game as every pitch will mean something. Let’s hope it is a close game throughout and it does not get decided because of some fluky play. Hopefully it is decided by one team outperforming the other team, with both teams playing their best. Undoubtedly, a unlikely hero will emerge for the winning team. The game will be heard on ESPN 700 tonight beginning at 6:00 PM.

The San Francisco Giants are looking for their third championship in 5 seasons. They could be considered a dynasty if they win tonight with all their success that they have shown is recent history. Tim Hudson will be on the mound tonight for the Giants. He went 5.2 innings on Friday allowing 3 runs in his last start against the Royals. If he struggles tonight, don’t be surprised to see Madison Bumgarner see some action for the Giants. He has been lights out for the Giants. He pitched a complete game shutout on Sunday allowing only 4 hits. This will be a game that comes down to pitching. Which team will step up?

The Kansas City Royals will have Jeremy Guthrie take the mound tonight. He pitched 5 innings on Friday giving up 2 runs in the win. Kansas City will be rocking tonight as their fans are wanting to see their hometown team win their fist championship since 1985, the atmosphere will be crazy. The Royals have played well this postseason. Will they be able to handle the pressure of a closeout game at home? Or will they be loose and just ready to go?
