Is Oregon Pushing Players Too Far, Or Is This Part Of A Culture Change?

Sean O’Connell argued that tough workouts are part of a tough sport. Brian Swinney disagreed, saying there needs to be a line drawn for players’ safety, a factor not as heavily considered “back in the day.”

Three Oregon Ducks football players were reportedly hospitalized after “grueling” team workouts with new head coach Willie Taggart. Even in a day where the rising generation is criticized for being soft, entitled, and selfish, many people have drawn the line of safety for football workouts when three FBS athletes are treated medically after practice.

At the same time, many others (including current players) are saying heavy workouts are part of a culture change for a losing program.

Ducks CB Ugochukwu Amadi tried to calm the storm on Twitter.
