Jazz select Jarrell Brantley with 50th pick

The Utah Jazz traded a future second round pick to the Indiana Pacers for Jarrell Brantley out of the College of Charleston.

Brantley is an undersized PF with a strong body, coming in at 6’7 and 250. Brantley worked out for the Jazz, and apparently showed enough to warrant being selected in the second round.

Brantley was a four year player at Charleston who saw his scoring average climb every year, culminating in a 19 point, eight rebound season as a senior. Brantley also shot 35% for his career at Charleston on 315 attempts, a big sample size.

Brantley may be able to come in and provide the Jazz with the toughness and shooting to replace Jae Crowder who they sent to Memphis for Mike Conley.
