The Utah Jazz signed veteran Jeff Green according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, likely rounding out the major contributors the Jazz will sign this offseason, after trading for Mike Conley before the draft, and signing both Bojan Bogdanovic and Ed Davis.
Jeff Green is a minute eater on the wing, capable of playing both the small forward and power forward position, and logged a surprising 20% of his minutes at center last year for the Washington Wizards.
Green averaged 12 points, four rebounds, and nearly two assists for the Wizards, while shooting 47% from the floor, and almost 35% from the three point line on over four attempts.
The Jazz now have 11 players under contract of a possible 15, before signing any of their three rookie second round picks. Here’s my projection for the team’s depth chart.
PG: Conley/Exum
SG: Mitchell/O’Neale
SF: Bogdanovic/Ingles
PF: Green/Niang/Brantley
C: Gobert/Davis/Bradley
The Jazz will still need to add a third string point guard, who would likely be Raul Neto if he clears waivers, and likely another wing shooter and defender.
