Jazz to reshape front office

As first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Utah Jazz are promoting Dennis Lindsey to executive vice president of basketball operations and assistant GM Justin Zanik to GM. A move that will add some stability to one of the Association’s burgeoning front offices.

The 44-year-old Zanik has recently been a hot name among GM job vacancies league wide and was a finalist for the Sixers GM position won by Elton Brand in 2018. At least for now, he’ll be staying put across the hall from Dennis Lindsey in Salt Lake City.

The reshaping of the front office will see Lindsey take on a broader, strategic and leadership role while Zanik becomes responsible for the day-to-day duties of running basketball operations. A formal announcement is expected as early as Friday, says Woj.

The move comes at a crucial juncture for the Jazz as they head into one of the more important offseasons in franchise history.
