Marquise Blair got hurt in week 9 vs UCLA last year. The hard hitting safety missed all of spring football as well. Utah football announced today that Blair is officially back and cleared to work out. This is huge news for the Utes as they look to add to their secondary that already has plenty of depth.
Offenses beware.

Marquise Blair had 48 tackles last year before getting hurt. At 6’2″ and 190lbs he has the size and speed to play all over the field for the Utes. While playing junior college football, Blair was used in many different ways. He blitzed from depth, he made tackles in the box and he made plays on the ball in the secondary. I would love to see the Utes beef Blair up and have him play more in the box. Think back to what Chase Hansen was able to do for the Utes before moving full time to linebacker. You can’t coach the type of tenacity that Marquise Blair plays with and Utah football is a much better team with him healthy.
Blair has drawn a few penalties for targeting in the past but I think it would be wrong to try to correct that style of play. Blair is an intimidating force on Utah’s defense. Let Blair keep striking fear into the hearts of Utah’s opponents.
