With the game scheduled on a FIFA fixture date, both squads are expected to bring their top stars. El Tricolor’s arsenal highlights word-class stars including Manchester United’s Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernández, PSV Eindhoven’s Andrés Guardado and the LA Galaxy’s newest signee, Giovanni dos Santos. Trinidad & Tobago’s brings talents such as Chicago Fire’s Joevin Jones, Columbus Crew SC’s Kevan George and Cardiff City’s Kenwyne Jones. The September matches will help prepare the nations ahead of the start of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers this Fall.

Mexico and Trinidad & Tobago last played on July 20, 2013 during the CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinals with El Tricolor taking the win 1-0. The two squads will also meet during this summer’s Gold Cup in Charlotte, NC on July 15 for a group stage battle. The match at Rio Tinto Stadium will mark the 19th encounter between the nations, which thrilled the world with its recent CONCACAF Gold Cup match last week, a 4-4 draw. At this time, Mexico leads the series with 12 wins, four draws and three losses.
