Real Salt Lake Opens up Training Camp on Friday

Real Salt Lake will open up training camp on Friday as players will report to camp and the team begins preparations for the 2015 Major League Soccer. On Thursday, RSL held their Media Preview Luncheon where President Bill Manning and Head Coach Jeff Cassar addressed the media and talked about the upcoming season. The team is excited for the season and has high expectations as they hope to be able to return to MLS Cup in December.

The players are scheduled to report for entrance physicals on Friday. On Saturday, the club will unveil its new, state-of-the-art south scoreboard at a season-ticket holder Open House at Rio Tinto Stadium. On Sunday, the team will hold its first formal training session at America First Field in Sandy. The session will be open for public viewing. On Monday the club departs for Arizona for the first leg of three preseason trips. The team will spend the week in Casa Grande, Ariz., training at the home site of the RSL-Arizona Academy team at Grande Sports World.

RSL will hold 3 scrimmages through training camp before holding their first preseason game on Saturday, February 18, against the New England Revolution in the Tucson Desert Diamond Cup.

Real Salt Lake will open up regular season play on the road as they take on Portland Timbers FC on Saturday, March 7. RSL’s home opener will be on Saturday, March 14, against the Philadelphia Union.
