Real Salt Lake finished the regular season above the playoff line thanks to Houston Dynamo’s win over L.A. Galaxy on Sunday afternoon. RSL officially finished in 6th place with a record of 14-13-7, earning them a spot in the knockout round against LAFC, who took third. The match will take place on Thursday, November 1 at 9:30 PM at Banc of California Stadium. This will be the ninth time RSL has made it to the playoffs in their fourteen seasons and the second in three years.
Portland Timbers finished in 5th place and will face FC Dallas, who dropped from 2nd to 4th on Decision Day. Seattle Sounders ended their season in 2nd while Sporting Kansas City claimed the top spot in the western conference.
