The San Francisco Giants Win the 2014 World Series

The San Francisco Giants claim their 3rd World Series title in 3 years behind World Series MVP Madison Bumgarner as they defeat the Kansas City Royals 3-2 on Wednesday. Madison Bumgarner was unbelievable this World Series as he appeared in 3 games, 2 starts, and his 5 inning relief appearance on Wednesday. At one point he retired 14 straight batters. In his 3 World Series appearances he threw 21 innings and struck out 17, while only allowing 1 earned run. He was fun to watch, what a performance he had last night. He just overmatched the Royals’ hitters. The Royals pitching staff pitched well, but unfortunately they went up against the hottest pitcher in baseball right now.

The Giants stepped up this series besides their game 6 loss. Pablo Sandoval performed well, Hunter Pence was great. It was a great team effort in the 7-game series. The Royals’ fans will have to wait at least another year for the Royals to have another. It has been 29 years since their last crown. It will be interesting to see what happens next year. San Francisco, enjoy the championship. Now the talk will be, are the Giants a dynasty? If they keep this up, they definitely will be.
