The Utah Jazz are quickly becoming one of the higher profile teams in the West, as evidenced by the NBA’s weeklong schedule release. In addition to playing in Mexico City on December 15th against the Orlando Magic, the Jazz will play on Christmas Day, in Salt Lake City, against the Portland Trailblazers. It will mark the Jazz first Christmas Day game since the Finals years as Karl Malone and John Stockton were carving their names into the NBA landscape.
Recently, Christmas Day games have featured the biggest names in the league, and usually a rematch of the Finals from the previous season.
Additionally, the Jazz will play their home opener on October 19th against the defending champion Golden State Warriors. Everywhere this game has been talked about, it is mentioned as the “home opener” so watch for the Jazz to actually open the season on the road before the 19th.
At this pace, I’d expect the full NBA schedule to be released on Friday, with more leaks coming out over the next 24 hours.
