The pads are finally on for the Utes in spring football and it’s time to separate the men from the boys. Several position battles could be settled over the next few practices. Here are some names to keep an eye out for now that the hitting has begun.
Nick Ford at right tackle/center/guard could establish himself as one of Utah’s five starters on the offensive line after beginning his career with the Utes as a defensive linemen.
Maxs Tupai looks primed and ready to take over the defensive end spot that’s up for grabs for the Utes. Kyle Whittingham has praised Tupai on multiple occasions before and during spring practices. Maxs had offers to Oklahoma and USC coming out of high school.
Bronson Boyd is also lighting it up at Utah spring practice. He’s got good size and great speed. So far he seems to be a perfect fit for what Troy Taylor and the offense wants to do to score points against the rest of the PAC12.
The first scrimmage of spring ball will be held tomorrow March 10th at Rice Eccles stadium and is open to any fans who want to attend.
