Miami Gets MLS Expansion Team

The long-awaited announcement has been finally been made, Major League Soccer has granted Miami an MLS expansion team!
When David Beckham signed his contract with the LA Galaxy in 2007, he was also getting an opportunity to own an MLS club at the end of his career.  Now, almost four years after he exercised that option, it’s finally happening.
With stadium plans finalized, the ownership group also has plans to build a privately-developed training center and academy to develop local players.  Sound familiar?
Expansion side LAFC will make their debut this season, visiting Rio Tinto Stadium for the first time on Saturday, March 10th.  Major League Soccer also announced an expansion club for Nashville in December.  Miami will be the 25th MLS team (including LAFC and Nashville), and the second MLS team for Florida.  The team name, debut season, staff, and colors have yet to be announced.
Jay-Z, Tom Brady, Will Smith, Neymar Jr., and many more celebrities all helped with the announcement and gave their congratulations to owners David Beckham, Marcelo Claure, Jorge and José Mas, Masayoshi Son, and Simon Fuller.
