The Utah Jazz (11-21) welcome in the Atlanta Hawks (23-8) to EnergySolutions Arena tonight at 7:00 PM as they will look to pick up their sixth win in 8 games. It won’t be easy as the Hawks are playing great basketball. The Hawks have the second best record in the Eastern Conference. Rodney Hood is questionable for the Jazz tonight as he has a sore left heal. He participated in parts of shootaround this morning.
The Jazz continue to be led by Gordon Hayward in scoring at 19.2 points per game. Derrick Favors is averaging 15.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. They will need to have solid games tonight as well as help from their other teammates. The Jazz will have to have their bench players step up their play tonight. It seems that the starters tend to have good games, but the bench play seems to be hit and miss.
The Jazz can’t let the Hawks jump on them early as they will have a tough time taking back the lead. They need to limit fast break chances for the Hawks and can’t give up too many turnovers. Jeff Teague and Paul Millsap are leading the way for the Hawks as both players are having solid years. According to Utah Jazz head Coach Quin Snyder, Al Horford is the biggest reason why the Hawks are such a good team this year. Here is Quin Snyder with the media following shootaround this morning:
The media also had a chance to catch up with Derrick Favors:
The Utah Jazz will have a tough time tonight but you never know in the NBA. That is why they play the game on the court and not on paper.
