Gordon Hayward will opt out of his player option for the 2017-18 season, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein. Hayward reportedly notified the Jazz Thursday he will officially hit the free agent market come Friday night at 10:01 MT.

Not to be confused, the Utah Jazz are still an (attractive) option for Hayward come free agency, along with the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. Hayward’s current contract would have allowed him to opt-in with the Jazz for the coming season and revisit free agency next summer.
Deseret News Jazz beat writer and ESPN 700 Jazz insider Jody Genessy (and others) has reported Hayward will meet with the three teams throughout the weekend before the July 4th holiday–Miami on Saturday, Boston on Sunday, and the Jazz on Monday.
