Utah Jazz vs Dallas Mavericks preview…
So the Jazz showed some flashes last night versus the Rockets. However, Houston showed their firepower and took the Jazz out on their home court in the opening game of the season, 104-93.
Jazz G/F Gordon Hayward thought Houston did a great job on the perimeter.
No time to waste though, as the Jazz are on the road tonight against the Dallas Mavericks. Dallas is 0-1 so far this season, losing to the defending champions by one point. Monte Ellis could presents some huge problems for the Jazz. Ellis had 26 points in the opener, Dirk Nowitzki had 18 points and Devin Harris, former Jazz man, pitched in 17 points. Newly signed free agent, Chandler Parsons had a rough night, only going 2-10. Don’t expect that to be the case tonight vs. the Jazz though. Maybe just some first game jitters. The Jazz on the other hand know they need to improve on their defense and that’s just what Jazz Head Coach Quin Snyder eludes to here:
The Mavericks are coming off a year where they were the 8th seed in the West and arguably gave the Spurs their best series last season in the playoffs, losing to San Antonio in 7 games and showed they belong in the discussion of great teams in the West, yet again. The Jazz are trying to improve game to game and maybe even sneak up on some teams if other NBA teams, don’t watch out, like our Yahoo Insider, Marc Spears mentioned on the Bill and OC Show on Wednesday, October 30th
Should be a big test for this Jazz team tonight, especially to see the teams mindset on a back to back. Something the Jazz struggled with last season, going 6-15 on the second half of a back to back.
Not to mention a 9-32 record that also needs some improving on going into this 2014-15 season.
