The Jazz started out the night well! However, that was short lived. The Jazz were up 10-2, but it was only the first three and a half minutes of the game. By the end of that remaining eight and a half minutes, the script was flipped. To the tune of a San Antonio, 25-7 close out. The Jazz were down ten and the Spurs never looked back.

Utah cut the lead to seven points, early in the 3rd quarter, but the combination of Patty Mills and Kawhi Leonard proved to be too much, as the duo accounted for 19 of the next 21 Spurs’ points, while also pushing the lead up to 17 points. Leonard ended the night leading all scorers, with 29 points, on 9-18 shooting, including 10-10 from the free throw line. Mills had 16 points and Pau Gasol was the second leading scorer for the Spurs, with 19 points.

For the Jazz, who drop to 3-3 on the season, Rodney Hood led the team with 18 points, while Joe Johnson and George Hill followed in scoring, with 14 and 13, respectively.

At halftime, the field goal shooting was virtually even, between the two teams, at 44 percent. By nights end, the Spurs maintained their shooting, with the Jazz dropping to 37.5 percent.

Up next for the Jazz, is the beginning of a 5 game road trip, and it’s an early one. Tip time will be at 10am on Sunday morning, as the New York Knicks will be the host. The Knicks picked up a nice road win vs. the Chicago Bulls on Friday night, 117-104, to bump their record to 2-3 on the season.
