The Utah Jazz (20-25) held practice today before they take on the Minnesota Timberwolves (14-33) on Friday at Vivint Smart Home Arena. Game time is set for 7:00 PM. The Jazz are currently tied in the 9th position in the Western Conference playoff picture with the Sacramento Kings. They are just percentage points out of the 8th (Portland Trail Blazers) and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Utah Jazz also announced today that they have assigned center Tibor Pleiss to the Idaho Stampede, the Jazz’s exclusively owned and operated NBA D-League team. Pleiss is expected to be in uniform for the Stampede’s game on Friday, Jan. 29 at Austin. This is the second assignment this season for Pleiss, who was previously assigned to Idaho from Nov. 29-Dec. 16. In seven games (all starts) for the Stampede, Pleiss averaged 11.6 points on 58.8 percent shooting, 8.4 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 assist in 30.1 minutes per game. He recorded three double-doubles, including one game of 15 points on 71.4 percent shooting and 11 rebounds against Bakersfield on Dec. 11. Pleiss has seen action in 12 games for the Jazz this season, averaging 2.0 points and 1.3 rebounds in 6.8 minutes per game.
