Utah Jazz Pre-Draft Workouts – 6-1-16

The Utah Jazz brought in 6 more players today for pre-draft workouts as they continue to prepare for the NBA Draft, which will be held on Thursday, June 23.  The Jazz currently own 4 picks in this year’s draft at 12, 42, 52, and 60.  Part of these workouts are also looking at potential players for the Utah Stars of the NBA Developmental League.  Today’s workout was guard heavy as they brought in 4 guards and 2 forwards.

The players that were brought in today included guards Bryn Forbes from Michigan State, Max Landis from IPFW, Syracuse’s Trevor Cooney, and Kenny Gaines out of Georgia.  The 2 forwards were Shawn Long from Louisiana-Lafayette and Pascal Siakam from New Mexico State.

Shawn Long is a 6′ 11″ forward from Louisiana-Lafayette.  Over his 4-year career he averaged 17.3 points per game and 10.7 rebounds.  He was elected as the 2016 Sun Belt Player of the Year after leading the league in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots.  He met with the media after his workout.  Here is the audio:

Bryn Forbes played his last 2 seasons at Michigan State.  During his senior season he average 14.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 28.1 minutes per game.  He met with the media after his workout.  Here is the audio:
