Utah Jazz Return Home To Take On The Atlanta Hawks

The Utah Jazz (29-33) look to keep their playoff hopes alive tonight as they welcome in the Atlanta Hawks (35-28) to Vivint Smart Home Arena at 7:00 PM.  The Jazz currently sit in the 9th spot in the Western Conference standings as they trail the Houston Rockets (31-32) by a game and a half.  Tonight also marks a reunion of sorts for Shelvin Mack of the Utah Jazz as he goes up against his former team in the Atlanta Hawks.  The Jazz will need to take advantage of being at home tonight.  They will need to play well.  This is game that they will test them, everyone will have to play a complete game.

The Utah Jazz continue to be led offensively by Gordon Hayward and Derrick Favors.  Hayward leads the team in scoring (20.1 points) and assists (3.7), while Forward Derrick Favors is hitting 51.7% of his shots as he is averaging 16.9 points per game.  Derrick Favors talked with the media following shoot around this morning.  Here is the audio:

Rudy Gobert is now averaging a double-double on the season as he is scoring 10.2 points per game and grabbing 10.8 rebounds a game.  Gobert is the team leader in blocked shots at 2.45 a game.  The Jazz continue to play well defensively as a team as they are giving up 97.2 points per game, which is 3rd best in the NBA.  The Hawks give up an average of 99.4 points per game and score 102.4 points per game.  The Hawks distribute the ball well as they average a league’s 2nd best 25.6 assists per game.  Former Jazzman Paul Millsap is leading the way for the Hawks as he is averaging 17.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.8 steals a game.
