Utah Jazz Win Second Straight Game With 97-91 Win Over Mavericks

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – The Utah Jazz (3-2) entered the second game of a back to back with heavy legs after beating the San Antonio Spurs on the road for the first time since 2010.  The second game wasn’t as difficult of a test as the Spurs but playing a team with a lot of veterans, including former Jazzman Deron Williams and the Dallas Mavericks (0-4).  The Jazz started strong as George Hill continues to impress in his first season with the Jazz.  The Jazz would jump out to a 20 point lead in the 3rd quarter before the bench would allow the Mavs to bring the lead to within five points.  Rodney Hood and George Hill would put the Mavericks away in the 4th quarter for the Jazz to pickup an 87-71 win and their second consecutive victory.  George Hill led the Jazz with 25 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists on 9/15 from the field and 4/6 from downtown.  Rodney Hood added 22 points and 7 rebounds on 9/16 shooting from the field and 2 of 4 from beyond the arc. Joe Johnson chipped in with 13 points and Rudy Gobert with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocks.  For Dallas, they were led by Harrison Barnes with 14 points. A pair of former Jazzmen Deron Williams and Wesley Matthews scored 12 points each.
