College Gameday Is Set Up In President’s Circle

For the second straight year, ESPN’s flagship college football talk show is set up in President’s Circle at the University of Utah.

For the second straight year, ESPN’s flagship college football talk show is set up in President’s Circle at the University of Utah.

Last year, College Gameday was in Salt Lake for #5 Utah and #23 California. This time, the #17 Utes are the underdog against the #4 Washington Huskies, but Utah certainly isn’t expected to be blown away at home.  Utah has now hosted the show 4 times, and appeared 5 times (2004 vs BYU, 2010 at TCU, 2011 vs TCU, 2015 vs Cal, 2016 vs Washington) with a 2-2 record in the four games already played.

Show host Rece Davis and analyst Desmond Howard met with local media on Friday afternoon to discuss returning to Salt Lake for a second consecutive year, in addition to breaking down Saturday’s game.

Davis announced via Twitter that comedian Frank Caliendo will be this week’s celebrity picker.

Fans wanting to be in the “pit” in view of Saturday morning’s 7-10 a.m. MT show are already camping out on President’s Circle, and have been since Thursday at 2:00 p.m.
