Devontae Booker is Out!

Booker-vs.-Arizona

It’s been a hard week for the Utes and their fans. Today the news gets a little bleaker. Devontae Booker is out for the regular season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus.

Last Saturday Utah suffered its second loss of the season in a 2OT showdown with Arizona. In the game Booker “tweaked his left knee” but it appears to be more than just a tweak after ESPN700’s own OC broke the news about the injury and surgery.

Although the injury is not severe the recovery is still considerable. He will be out four to six weeks which will keep him out of any post season Utah may play in. There is a chance he could play in the Senior Bowl on January 24.

Booker is third in the PAC12 with 1,261 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns which is 70% of Utah’s rushing production.

Does Booker’s injury kill the rest of Utah’s promising season?
