Utah Football will be without it’s best wide receiver for the rest of the season. Senior WR Dres Anderson will miss the remainder of the year with a knee injury. Anderson suffered the injury on the final drive of the 24-21 win over USC on Saturday night at Rice Eccles Stadium.
Anderson leads Utah in receiving with 22 receptions and 355 yards this season. Anderson’s 4 touchdown catches is the most on the team this year. His 2,077 career yards rank 5th in Utah Football History.
Utah will now lean heavily on Kenneth Scott, Kaelin Clay and Tim Patrick to make plays in the pass game. One name to keep an eye on will be true freshman Kenric Young, from Gainesville, Florida. Young is extremely fast, he was one of the top 200m and 400m sprinters in the state of Florida as a junior and senior. Young and Delshawn McClellon could see more game time with the injury to Dres Anderson.
Because of a 2010 redshirt and 7 games played this season, Anderson doesn’t not appear to be a candidate for a medical or hardship redshirt.
