The University of Utah football team is gearing up for an exciting start to their 2023 season. Four official kickoff times were released by the Pac-12 conference Wednesday. The official week one kickoff time is set at 6 p.m. MT on Thursday, August 31, for the Utes’ matchup against the Florida Gators in Rice-Eccles Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPN, marking the Gators’ first non-conference road game outside of Florida since 1991. The Utes have a strong track record in season openers, boasting a 77-51-1 all-time record and only losing three in the last 16 seasons.
Fans can find a countdown to Utah Football, complete with updated information on the matchup with the Gators, on ESPN 700’s Countdown to Kickoff page.
In week two, the Utes are set for a Power Five non-conference matchup as one of seven Pac-12 schools participating in such games. On Saturday, September 9, they will travel to Waco, Texas, to take on the Baylor Bears. The game is scheduled for 10 a.m. MT/11 a.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN. Interestingly, this will be the first time since 2007 that Utah’s first two non-conference opponents hail from Power Five conferences.
For their final non-conference game, the Utes will return to the familiar grounds of Rice-Eccles Stadium to host the Weber State Wildcats on Saturday, September 16. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. MT, and fans can catch the action on the Pac-12 Network. Utah has a perfect 6-0 record against Weber State, with all victories secured in Salt Lake City.
Additionally, the Pac-12 has announced an exciting “special date” game for the Utes. On September 29, the Utes will face off against the Oregon State Beavers in Corvallis, Oregon. This Friday night battle is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. PT/7 p.m. MT, adding to the intrigue of the matchup.
