Utah basketball held media availability at Tuesday afternoon’s practice at the Huntsman Center. Afterward, a handful of media members spoke with head coach Larry Krystkowiak.
One of the reporters (toward the end of the audio clip included) asked Krystkowiak why Utah doesn’t schedule more in-state schools for basketball games during the non-conference schedule.
“”I wouldn’t play BYU if I had an opportunity to at any point,” Krystkowiak said as part of his answer about multiple schools. “But we’re gonna.”

LK: Scheduling is a pretty complicated thing for us to do. Not our responsibility to play all of the in-state schools.

LK: As the head coach of Utah Basketball, I'm not gonna schedule everybody in the state of Utah just so the fans will be happy.
