UTAH FOOTBALL GAME NOTES
• Running back Wayshawn Parker has been an ultimate weapon on offense to start the season. The junior is fourth in the FBS with 11 total touchdowns (7 rushing, 4 receiving) and just one off the nation’s lead of 12. He’s the first Utah player since 2021 to rush for 170-plus yards in back-to-back games after going for 174 at Iowa State and 171 vs. Kansas.
• Quarterback Devon Dampier has been the orchestrator of one of college football’s most dynamic offenses in the first half of the season, sitting second in the Big 12 in both passing efficiency (171.6) and completion percentage (.718). He ranks in the top half of the conference in passing touchdowns (12, 4th) and passing yards per game (226.8, 7th).
• After scoring 66, 43, 33, 31 and 41 points in the first five games of the season, Utah has now scored 30 or more points in 11 straight games dating back to the 2025 season, the longest active streak in the FBS of games scoring 30-plus points.
• Morgan Scalley became the first Utah head coach to start a full season 5-0 since Jim Fassel in 1985. He’s also the first coach in program history to start 6-0 dating back to last season’s Las Vegas Bowl.
• Utah is 5-0 for the first time since 2015 and has a +24.3 average margin of victory through five games so far this season, sixth best in the FBS. The Utes are the only undefeated FBS team to win each of their games by 14+ points in 2026.
• The Utes’ defense has been making it tough on opposing offenses, allowing just 65 total points (13.0 ppg: 7th FBS, 1st Big 12). The red zone defense ranks 4th in the FBS and 1st in the Big 12 at 0.636. Utah’s rushing defense is giving up just 78.8 ypg (9th FBS, 2nd Big 12) after allowing 181.2 ypg in 2025 (108th FBS).
• Utah’s offense has been equally as impressive early in the season, ranking 9th in the FBS and second in the conference in total offense at 502.0 ypg. Utah is currently 6th in the FBS in scoring offense and leads the conference with 42.8 ppg.
