SALT LAKE CITY–The University of Utah and its multimedia rights (MMR) holder, Learfield’s Utes Sports Properties, announced Wednesday morning a 5-year extension of its radio partnership with ESPN 700. Utah athletics will continue a 66-year—and counting—appearance on 700 AM.
Utah announced a 10-year MMR partnership with Learfield in March, effective July 1, 2017. Wednesday’s announcement further cements ESPN 700 as the “Home of the Utes.”
“We are ecstatic to create a new agreement with Utes Sports Properties and remain the radio flagship home for Utah Athletics for the next five years,” said Kayvon Motiee, President of Broadway Media, ESPN 700’s parent company. “There’s not a better time than right now to be associated with the University of Utah. Broadway Media and ESPN 700 will work hard to continue to build on the Utes’ legacy that’s been established.”
ESPN 700 will continue to be the radio broadcast flagship home of Utes football and men’s and women’s basketball broadcasts and their respective coach’s shows. Additionally, the station will now air all home gymnastics meets and weeknight and weekend home baseball games.
