Utah Football: Practice No. 7, Tackle

An ongoing theme continues to circulate among the Utes during Spring football practice; to just continue to improve and get better each time.

Utah’s running back Devontae Booker shared his simple thoughts:

“Do better, each day.”

Quarterbacks in sight:

1- Travis Wilson, stabilizing the No. 1 spot for starting QB

2- Kendal Thompson, once he goes through knee rehabilitation, might be is next in line.

3- Chase Hansen with proven effort is moving his way into the number 3 spot.

Running backs:

Defense is currently taking extra caution to Devontae Booker during practice.

Other receivers making an impact:

Kenneth Scott WR, Evan Moeai TE, Bubba Poole RB/WR , Jameson Field WR

Coach Whittingham said that Poole is making plays, and getting in the majority of his reps.

“Time will tell. He’s on an upward trend, with out a doubt. He’s got a lot to learn that there’s a lot of subtle movements in that position that are to come with acrrued reps and so he’s going to have to continue to work at it- but he has the right attitude and he has really embraced his position,” said Whittingham.

Troy McCormick- who was injured last week during practice, will have surgery Thursday and will need rehab after.

The Utes practice again Thursday March 9th, 2015 from 3-5pm. This will be a no tackle practice.
