University of Utah Replacing Coke with Pepsi Next July

The University of Utah announced that PepsiCo will be the official beverage provider for the school (and athletic programs) starting in July 2017.

The University of Utah announced that PepsiCo will be the official beverage provider for the school (and athletic programs) starting in July 2017.  This will replace a longtime partnership with Coca-Cola.  Pepsi, Gatorade (replacing Powerade), Dr. Pepper, Aquafina, Pure Leaf iced tea, Mountain Dew, Naked juice, Starbucks ready-to-drink coffee, and more will soon fill the halls of the U and the athletic facilities.

Utah vice president John Nixon said because of the deal, roughly 200 new scholarships will be provided to students of great financial need.  Pepsi will also work with the U to create healthy alternatives in snack and drink options, in part with their lineup of Aquafina, Naked, Propel, and O.N.E.

It should be noted this agreement was reached by the university, independent of the athletic department.
