Utah Sweeps Road Trip With Win Over Washington

SEATTLE, WA – The University of Utah is building confidence in conference play after beating Washington State by 41 points.  Utah would have two days off before finishing the Washington road trip in Seattle against the Huskies.  Utah would get off to a good start on Saturday, getting everything they want on the offensive end.  Washington didn’t seem to have the urgency to defend the Utes and that led Utah to a 53-40 lead going to the locker room.  Utah shot 67% from the field (21-31) and held the Huskies to 40% (15-37).  Washington would come out and defend significantly better to start the second half and would trim the lead to nine before Utah would carry the lead to 20.  Utah would outscore Washington 41-32 in the second half to pick up a 94-72 win.

Utah had three players in double figures with those players each scoring over 20 points, led by true freshman Devon Daniels and senior Lorenzo Bonam with 24 points apiece.  Kyle Kuzma picked up his fifth straight double-double with 22 points and 15 rebounds.  Washington was led by freshman sensation Markelle Fultz with 30 points, that was his third straight game scoring 30 points or more.  Fultz is projected to be a top five NBA Draft pick if he declares this offseason. David Crisp was the only other Husky to score in double figures with 14.
