Albert Rusnak Looking Forward to Slovakian National Team Call-Up…and Getting Away From SLC For A Bit

Albert Rusnak has been the bright spot in Real Salt Lake’s attack since joining the team last year, but is trouble brewing?  RSL announced today that Rusnak has been called up to the Slovakian National Team, and just hours later Rusnak said he’s looking forward to getting out of Salt Lake “for a minute” and doesn’t know what is going to happen…

Hear his full post-training sound here.

Rusnak adapted to Major League Soccer quickly and has been key to RSL’s attack, with 3 goals and 3 assists so far this season.  But he hasn’t been shy when talking about the defensive problems at Real Salt Lake, saying last week that the problem isn’t in the attack but with how many goals they are conceding.

Rusnak will play with Slovakia against the Netherlands on May 31st and Morocco on June 4th.

Real Salt Lake will have two home matches while Albert is away, hosting Houston on May 30th and Seattle on June 2nd.

UPDATE:

Former Real Salt Lake defender and current Fox Sports Analyst Ian Joy reports Sparta Prague is working to get Rusnak.
