Real Salt Lake Acquires NWSL Team

Real Salt Lake Owner Dell Loy Hansen announced on Thursday that another dream of his has become a reality, two years earlier than planned, as RSL is set to launch their newly acquired NWSL team this coming 2018 season.  Real Salt Lake first spoke with the National Women’s Soccer League about the deal just 15 days ago and has been working around the clock to get it done.  The team, name TBA, will play at Rio Tinto Stadium and will report in January.  Hansen and RSL General Manager Craig Waibel, who both have daughters, got emotional talking about what this team means for young women and the sport in Utah.  Waibel said it would be a mistake on their part not to take a look at local talent when constructing this team, as the roster has yet to be worked out.
