Real Salt Lake and Major League Soccer have announced the 2019 schedule. RSL will begin and end the regular season with Houston (March 2 away, Sept. 29 home) and Vancouver (March 9 home, Oct. 6 away), and will visit Allianz Field (Minnesota United) on September 15 and Audi Field (D.C. United) on March 16 for the first time. Real will face MLS’s most recent addition F.C. Cinncinati on April 19 in Ohio. 2018 MLS Cup Champions will visit Rio Tinto Stadium on Friday, May 24, before RSL goes on a three-match eastern conference road trip at Montreal – Wed. May 29, NYRB – June 1, INT’L BREAK, Chicago – June 22. Upon returning from Chicago, RSL will face rivals Sporting Kansas City on June 29 at RioT, the first time since being knocked out of the western conference semis at SKC. The Rocky Mountain Cup will open on May 11 at Colorado and the Cup will be decided at Rio Tinto on Aug. 24, the last of a three-match homestand for RSL.
Of RSL’s final six matches of the season, only one is on a Saturday (Sept. 21 at New England) while two are scheduled for Wednesdays (Sept. 11 vs San Jose and Sept. 25 vs L.A. Galaxy) and three are scheduled for Sundays (Sept. 15 at Minnesota United, Sept. 29 vs Houston, and Oct. 6 at Vancouver). In total, Real has eleven matches scheduled outside of Saturday with two Friday matches (1 home 1 away), four Sunday matches (1 home 3 away), and five Wednesday matches (4 home 1 away).
Real Salt Lake will open the 2019 season at Houston Dynamo on Saturday, March 2 at 4 P.M. and their home opener will be the following week Saturday, March 9 at 4 PM against Vancouver Whitecaps.
