Runnin’ Utes add a sharpshooter to the class of 2019

In a press release on Tuesday, University of Utah basketball announced the NLI signing of JuCo guard Alfonso Plummer.

Plummer, a native of Puerto Rico, spent his first two years of eligibility at Arizona Western Community College. As a sophomore at AWCC, Plummer averaged 18.6 points and 3.5 rebounds. He also shot a blistering .438 from 3-point range as he led the NJCAA Region 1 ranks with 126 makes from distance. Clearly, this makes him a good fit for a Utah team looking to remain one of the top units from beyond the arc in the Pac-12.

“Alfonso is a great young man who will fit into our culture and system very well,” Larry Krystkowiak said in the release. “He is a great shooter. He has had quite the journey so far, and we are happy to have him join our program.”

With a busy offseason in front of them, the Runnin’ Utes still have a few roster spots to fill and a coaching vacancy on the bench. Check back for the latest on Utah athletics right here at espn700sports.com.
